My friend Leslie McLellan tagged me in the Why I Write Blog Hop. I am thankful that she did because I always enjoy telling people why I like to do the things I do. Especially when it comes to writing.
I write because writing gives me ability to get my frustrations out when I am upset, frustrated or annoyed with a situation. I also get to express my joy . For more detailed writing projects I get to use my love of researching as well. For me writing and researching are my two favorite introvert activities. I would have to also add in there reading, since it is often part of the writing process.
Yes I am an introvert. I am more comfortable with my PC, a good book, researching, the Internet, and yes writing. In retrospect though writing helps me get out of that introvert space. I am forced to get out of my head. I am forced to figure out how to express how I feel. Without writing and my gift for it – yes I am bragging here :), I think I would implode. Over the course of my life I have had so many more downs than ups, yet because I write openly about what I go through and have gone through I am better able to cope with those curve balls life throws at me.
So writing is my therapy.
Writing is also my way to show folks I am knowledgeable about topics I get involved with. I never bring a knife to a gunfight when it comes to getting in discussions on the Internet. I do my due diligence and read up on the issues so I can contribute in as constructive of a manner as I can to what is being talked about. I don’t like coming off like I don’t know what I am talking about and I don’t like being treated like I don’t know what I am talking about either.
Now I have to pass this torch on to three other people.
