This month I decided to take part in a list building challenge by Sue Worthington. So far it has been setting up systems before putting your offer out there. Some of the systems I have had in place but forgot about them and well as fast as tool and sites change it is actually a good thing to re-visit the systems you once had in place to fine tune the ones that are still currently being supported and updated by their developers. Conversely you can pitch the ones that aren’t. Also participating in challenges can be fun, definitely educational and a good way to keep you on top of your game.
Day 1 is about setting your goals for the challenge. Mine are the following:
- Streamline my G-Mail accounts so that the lists I am subscribed to are all in one e-mail account.
- Increase subscribers by 5 subscribers er day for 30 days
- Look at how I can integrate e-mail subscriptions across all channels.
Day 2 of the Challenge asks us to get our mindset right. What does mindset have to do with systems? If you don’t feel like you can master setting them up you won’t have the confidence to move forward in your business. I am here to tell you that it is such an awesome feeling to learn how to do something that you didn’t know before. When I first started to learn how to set up a blog I was so proud of myself. Even more so proud of myself when I learned how to set up a Word Press blog. Now I can do many of the functions in setting a blog up in my sleep.
Day 3 is about your list building philosophy. With this one I took a moment to look at what I was doing in my business currently. I still want to help small and mid sized businesses get their message out via social media. My focus has shifted some in teaching them how to get engagement in their business. So with that being said my philosophy and intention is to give business owners the confidence to use social media to promote themselves.
Day 4 is all about demographics and looking at your ideal subscriber. I took this one further and created a Survey Monkey Survey to get a feel for my target market better. I would love for you to take the survey at the end of this post. 🙂
Day 5 is about setting up Google Analytics. I have had this roughly set up for my site. Thanks to this challenge it kick started me into getting it set up the rest of the way.
Wildheart Social Media is the only Topeka business that does only social media.
